Round Rock, Texas
At last count, Round Rock, Texas had a population of over 92,000, fast approaching the 100,000 mark.
Round Rock is situated on Austin's northern border. It is primarily in Williamson county but encroaches into Travis
county at several points.
Round Rock's largest employers are Dell Inc., Farmer's Insurance, and Cypress Semiconductor. Round Rock citizens
enjoy some of the lowest tax and utility rates in Texas. Round Rock's tax base is supplemented by its sales tax.
It has a 2% sales tax on top of Texas' 6.25%. The many retail businesses, including the new Round Rock Outlet Mall create a large
income flow from visitors, easing the tax burden on its citizens. Its residents pay a 37.1 cent per $100.00 valuation. Even
though it is the 34th largest city in Texas it is #7 for sales tax revenue.
Round Rock has an award winning master plan that provides for a renowned park system and school district while keeping
down the property tax and utility rate.
To add to it's appeal it has achieved the ranking of the 13th safest city in America to live in. All of these factors
have added up to make it one of the top 5 cities in America to relocate a family.
A national study of 150 of the most populous cities utilizing Metropolitan statistical areas and measuring nearly 50
factors important to relocating families and in cooperation with Bert Sperling's Bestplaces study named Round Rock as #5.
A major factor in this equation is the current real estate market focusing on home affordability, appreciation rates, property
taxes and rent costs.
The study also factors in air quality, climate, educational oppotunities, unemployment, job gowth, per student expenditures,
and entertainment and leisure.
For the lovers of baseball (or just good family entertainment) Round Rock became the home of Dell Diamond in 2000.
The Round Rock express is quartered there and is one of the top triple A teams in The U.S. They are the "farm club" for the Astros.
The Dell Diamond is a $25 million dollar facility and also doubles as a state-of-the-art conference center.
Combining all of these features, it is no wonder that Round Rock is such a desirable place to move to and live in. We hope that if
you are planning a move, you will call us. We would love to give you our personal attention because for us...it's personal...every time!
Thanks,
Esta and John Ingle
